Indian mathematics is important to the world history of mathematics study. Aryabhata (AD 499) and Bhaskara (AD 629) are both the most influential astronomers and mathematicians in India through the work, Aryabhatiyabhasya. This thesis is a study on the mathematical chapter (Ganita) of Aryabhatiyabhasya. First, I translate its English version, Expounding the Mathematical Seed,A Translation of BhÄskaraâ… on the Mathematical Chapter of theÄryabhatÄ«ya of A. Keller. Then, do some researches focus on the mathematical content and concepts and make a brief picture of the book. After that, I also compare with other Indian mathematical works and Chinese Mathematics.Though the study, I find that Aryabhatiyabhasya is less similar with Greek mathematics, but much inherit ancient Indian mathematics i.e. Sulbasutras. And it's also like Chinese Mathematics as a kind of"mechanize","algorithm"and"practical"mathematics.
