Application Of Three-Dimensional GIS In Industrial Park Planning Base On SketchUp And ArcEngine

Now CAD (Computer-Aided Design) platform is widely used in industrial park design, but GIS (Geographic Information System) technology is rarely used to aid planning and design, even only two-dimension GIS technology. The CAD technology and two-dimensional GIS technology are not intuitive in delivering the planning and design results, and not convenient for designers to view the design effect and the supplementary planning and design functions provided are also very limited.In this paper, the author proposed to establish three-dimension Industry Park planning assistant system combining the strong query, analysis and three-dimension visualization technology in the three-dimension GIS.It not only can know the whole spatial distribution of topographical features and surface features of the industrial park macroscopically, but also can insight into subtle terrain features of the industrial park microscopically, which show the three-dimensional geographical entities in the Industrial Park more directly.In technique of realizing the three-dimension scene in three-dimension GIS Aided Industrial Park Planning, due to the disadvantage of lack reality in three-dimension scene and GIS spatial query and analysis capacity in current GIS Software, the author proposed a new approach combining the ArcEngine and the three-dimension modeling Software SketchUp. For building models which need to display prominently in the Industry Park, used three-dimension modeling Software SketchUp to create three-dimension models; then converted it into Multipatch format data which can load in ArcEngine after making certain rendering modification; based on these three-dimension model data, used ArcEngine component in Visual Studio 2005 C#.NET Programming Environment to develop the three-dimension GIS Aided Industrial Park Pla5The three-dimension GIS Aided Industrial Park Planning System realizes the corresponding functions required in industrial park planning and design.such as three-dimensional scene shows,pan,navigat, fly, three-dimensional features query, project's or resource's property query and editing, add three-dimensional model, replace the three-dimensional scene, three-dimensional measurement and buffer analysis.In demonstration of design results intuitively, it can provide more realistic three-dimension scene and plentiful information to planning designers, and also can facilitate designers to revise their plan.
