Geographic Information System (GIS) has been one of the most powerful tools for earthquake disaster reduction. In this paper, according to the require of seismic engineering of Heilongjiang province,efforts are devoted to establishing GIS based on retrieval system for earthquake resistant design ground motion.This system support data for the level of seismic fortification of Heilongjiang .This article reads as follows:1.The overall design for the retrieval systemThe overall design is described in detail: the design goal, the overall design, detailed design of the system, debugging use, until the system is finished.Finally, the article gives the instructions for use.2.The database of the retrieval system of the designed earthquake parameters of Heilongjiang based on GIS is establishedThe basic data that the design ground motion parameters of the cities is found out from the zoning maps. And then calculating other data by the way of interpolation. We can get the design ground motion parameters of any point. The data contains design parameters under different years and different probability of exceedance. The calculated data is finally took into the GDB.3.The design and implementation of the retrievalThe combination between ArcEngine and C #: AE's position in the GIS development is like Windows in PC systems. So its powerful is no doubt.The C# and Java are side by side recognized as the most powerful development language for the current programming.The beauty of Using AE together with C # to develop a system greatly shortens the development cycle.Object-Oriented Database Model - GeoDatabase: In GDB, the map of the object can be defined as longitude, latitude, location, time, like the terrain can be defined as contour lines. Because we take data as objects, we can know the system has the feature of the polymorphism, encapsulation and inheritance. So you can see that such a database is easy to operate, more convenient for future expansion.The basic data will be analyzed through Kriging interpolation into the third generation of geographic database, GDB, and then through the secondary AE and C # development, finally got the required system.4.The three major advantages of the retrieval systemThe design ground motion parameters query system has three major advantages: Seamless Delivery: The database contains the design ground motion parameters of each county in Heilongjiang province, and can be adjusted to demand of its arbitrary geographical space .Easy to check: In this paper, three ways of inquiring, including input the cities, input latitude and longitude,and click any point of the map, could display all inquired data .Convenience to expand: This system is a modular form of development, through the association of different databases to display the different information. Therefore, we can add other modules to meet the future needs. And we can also change the database to call and display the information used in the future.
