The plant may receive many adverse factors during the growth period. These factors can be class into two parts:biotic and abiotic. The growth pressure which comes from the biotic often due to the threaten of plant diseases and insect pests(which include pest, virus, bacterium, true fungus). And the growth pressure which comes from the abiotic often due to the growth environment itself, which often called abiotic stress or less favorable environments. So,less favorable environments often means all kinds of environmental factors that disadvantage to the living and development of the plant or bring about harm to the plant. The less favorable environments can be class into:cold injury, high temperature,flood,high-salt,the pollution of radiation, peroxidate, chemical agent by the kinds of environment. The ability of plant to resist and to endure the less favorable environments is called---plant stress-resistance.In the kinds of above-mentioned,low temperature,drought,high-salt are the main factors that influence the growth and yield of crop.Among the three,high-salt and drought are the two most important factors that restrict the plant growth. The high-salt usually cause drought stress,it's a basic phenomenon of physiology. The deposit of salt in the soil can generate low water potential. This make it's difficulty for the plant to taking water and nutrition from the soil.Therefore,high-salt usually make the plant to be a water-deficit environment and form the drought of physiology. It's include many main ions(Na+,K+,H+ and Ca2+)during the salt stress signal. And these ions interact to each other to maintain the environmental stable of the cell.We simulate a stress environment of high-salt and osmotic in the laboratory condition, and observe the physiological reaction of our mutant in these stress environment.Through the study of mag2 mutant which has a T-DNA insert in MAG2 gene,we find the growth of the mag2 mutant has no difference with the wild type. But,under the treatment of salt,osmotic-stress,ABA,PAC,the mag2 mutant all display the inhibition of seed germination and growth compare with the wild type. Moreover, the mag2 mutant also reveal over-sensitive to salt stress.Through the analysis of gene expression that relative to salt stress,we found the express of them did increase. As the meaning that MAG2 indeed can influence the tolerance to salt stress. When T-DNA insert into MAG2,the mutant obviously increase the sensitivity to slat stress.
