The Visualization Of 3DCM And Application

Nowadays 3DCM (3D city model) has been developed in a certain degree since its appearance and application in 90's of last century. Many researches study 3DCM from different aspect, and many data providers can supply 3D models of different cities allover the world. 3DCM can be seemed as a kind of not matured archetype of 3DGIS but can be applied to some extend. The current research mainly includes data capture, data model, data management, visualization and spatial analysis model etc.CyberCity is a virtual 3D representation of a city. People can interact with it by exploring and collecting natural and cultural information. 3DCM is the basic content of CyberCity. It not only contains geometrical expression with many kinds of details and levels, but also provides photo-liked surface such as realistic materials and texture features or other information that involve the property.Most of the research works in this paper mainly include the following aspects:(1) The value of 3DCM visualization, which is not only the efficient front interface of GIS, but also the advantaged environment of spatial query and analysis. (2) Different types and data sources of 3DCM and the management of visualization. (3) The method of 3DCM visualization, such as the integration and scheduling of different data, multi-dimensional and multi-view presentation, interactive 3D visualization, spatial query and analysis in 3D scene.After illustrating the study of 3DCM visualization by CyberShenzhen, the measuring standard about 3DCM visualization is put forward at the end of this paper.
