With the development of informatization of our society, GIS has become popular day by day with Digital Globe and Digital Marine emerging. Based on the research task named "Database Server Technology of Massive Marine data" as part of 908 specific project launched by State Ocean Administration, this paper aims at the seamless integration of marine data in vector format. The splitting of complete marine geographical space which results from chart subdivision and map sheet overlapping is harmful to the accuracy and completeness of marine data source, bringing about the malfunction of marine GIS. However, with the seamlessly merging techniques for multi-sheet based on marine data source, marine sheets could ultimately achieve seamless logically and physically as well as consistency for users, in which different parts of a geographical object become consistent logically, playing a significant role on continuous visualization of marine geographical space as well as accuracy of spatial analysis. On the basis of digital marine map in vector format this paper spells out the digital marine map in the aspects of its classification, characteristics as well as data structure, which designs and realizes algorithms for three kinds of vector maps respectively under the guideline of specific problems for each. Particularly for the challenging part of polygon merging a specific algorithm has been selected from several ones to achieve a higher accuracy. Moreover this paper puts forward an algorithm for multi-sheet processing at the same time. The seamless merging algorithm in this paper has been deployed in application with the performance better than commercial software as ArcGIS.
