The high slope which is above the tunnel of Heihe reservoir in Xi'an was taken as the investigated subject. Based on the former datum and detailed investigates on the spot, in this paper comprehensive analysis of the landslide to slip the geographical environment of the area of slope started, by the research to the geography characteristic, material of the slippery body of slope constitutes the characteristic , the characteristic of the deformation and failure, the formation reason of landslide was analyzed, combined with methods of limit equilibrium and UDEC numerical value simulation analogy procedure , further understanding on the landslide's stability and the distribution characters of strain and stress filed was made. Meanwhile some optimizing treatment-measure to make the slope long-time stability was provided .The acquired results were as follows :1. By analysis of the topograghy and geomorphology, body structure, geologic, strata tock, surface water and groundwater etc., landslide variability characteristics of the overall instability was put forward that deformation and failure mode of slipmass was surface slip away diarrhea - the central sliding - deep deformation. The softening schistosity surface and the strong precipitation were considered the reason led to the slope of the creep deformation, instability.2. By using the limit equilibrium methods of Sarma,Morgenstern-Price and imbalance thrust force , the stability of the slope stability state was analysed and evaluated,and it was indicated that the sliding body was still unstable in the saturated state , that is in the absence of the impact of the earthquake, therefore, the slope was hardly to maintain its stability in the bad circumstance.3. The UDEC discrete two-dimensional element software was utilized to perform numerical simulation on the process of slope deformation , the deformation characteristics of the slope was analyzed in the accept of stress, strain, and the distribution of plastic zone and so on, and the rate and displacement of one point in the slope was monitored, the result indicated that now the entirety of landslide was in the creep and sliding state in natural condition, part of the sliding mass had been damaged.4.The slope brought a serious threat to the safety of reservoir, especially the water tower , so a effective treatment-scheme including "unload the upward of landslide +install anti-slide pile+ setup drainage system+ using bolt protection the surface"was put forward..
