The physiological functions of trigonelline was studied under the salt,osmotic stress and light,using soybean(Glycine max L.),Alfala(Medicago sativa L.) and Fraxinus mandshurica as material in this study.The results are as follow:In the researching method of distilling trigonelline,85%of methanol or 100%of methanol as the solvent has the best extracting effect,and the time of ultrasonic extraction of should be over 40mins length.Under drought stress,the content of trigonelline in leaves of soybean increased under drought stress.The content of trigonelline in upper leaf of soybean was higher than that of in lower leaf.The contents of proline and soluble sugar also increased under drought stress.The content of proline in upper leaf of soybean was higher than that in lower leaf.But content of soluble sugar in lower leaf of soybean was higher than that in upper leaf.The contents of trigonelline in leaves of soybean increased under salt stress,and the content of trigonelline in upper leaf of soybean was higher than that of in lower leaf.The contents of proline and soluble sugar also increased under salt stress.The content of proline in upper leaf of soybean was higher than that of in lower leaf.But the content of soluble sugar in lower leaf of soybean was higher than that of in upper leaf.Under the osmotic stress,the contents of proline and soluble sugar were higher than that of trigonelline.By observing the frozen section of alfalfa root tip cell,the sizes of root tip cells treated with trigonelline of 3 mm·L-1 and 6 mm·L-1 were smaller than that of control(using water).The results were showed that trigonelline had the function of preventing cell growth,which may be a way of resisting environment stress.By changing the size of cell in plants.And,trigonelline can be osmolyte of osmotic adjustment.The content of trigonelline in leaves of soybean was the highest under the full sunlight. Contents of trigonelline in upper leaves of soybean varieties,Heinong 38 and Suinong 14 were 52.12μg·g-1FW and 47.29μg·g-1FW,respectively.Contents of trigonelline in the lower leaves was 25.73μg·g-1FW and 28.13μg·g-1FW.Under the shade of 28.7%of full sunlight,the content of trigonelline in leaves of soybean was the lowest.The results were showed that the content of trigonelline was related with sunlight intensity.Non-photochemical quenching(NPQ) is a process which includes hot energy dissipation and other energy dissipation.The result were showed that NPQ in leaves treated with trigonelline increased.If the plant could not clear the superabundance energy,it would hurt the photosynthesis system.Spraying trigonelline on leaves can help plant increase NPQ of photosynthesis so that capability of excitation energy dissipation can be enhance,which can protect PSⅡnot to be hurt by excitation energy.
