Soil conditions have an important impact on the distribution of vegetation, it is particularly important to ascertain the relationship between the distribution of vegetation and the soil factors. We have investigated the vegetation and soil of the lake in the north-east of Ulan Buh desert. We analyzed the horizontal and vertical changes of soil moisture content, bulk density, organic matter, soil available K content, pH and total soil water-soluble salt, and applied the two-way indicator species classification (TWINSPAN) and Detrended Correspondence Analysis (DCA) to study the distribution of vegetation over the relationship between soil factors. The main findings are as follows:(1) The soil moisture, soil organic matter, soil available K content of the two samples from the shoreline to the edge of a wetland to reduce the trend of gradually; Soil bulk density, soil pH, total soil water-soluble salt there is no obvious trend in the horizontal direction; the soil moisture from the surface to the lower has gradually increased; the total amount of soil water-soluble salt and soil available K content from the surface to a gradual lowering of the lower trend; Soil bulk density, soil pH there is no obvious trend in the vertical direction.(2) Ulan Buh Desert wetlands, in the scope of our investigation there were 31 kinds of plants belonging to 10 families 29 genera. There are mainly Asteraceae 8 genera and 9 species; 6 genera, 6 species of Gramineae; 6 genera 6 species of Chenopodiaceae; there are three kinds of legumes, Zygophyllaceae has two kinds, Tamaricaceae, Cyperaceae, Elaeagnus Branch, Primulaceae, Rosaceae have one families one genera.(3) TWINSPAN classification divided the plot A of 32 quadrats into four groups, three community, it is Reed community, Saussurea community and Nitraria community; the B sample of 31 quadrats were divided into three groups, the three communities, it is Leymus chinensis community, reed community, ordosica community, and the distribution of the three communities were brought into shore zone of the law.(4) DCA ordination response to the relationship between community distribution and soil factors intuitively, and the distribution of the vegetation and soil moisture content in the two plots have a stronger correlation.
