There are a large number of J domain protein gene in plant ,playing an important role in physiological processes . ALP1 is a typical J domain protein and the concrete funtion has not been reported. A ALP1 T-DNA activation tagging mutant of Arabidopsis thaliana named alp1 was obtained in this study, based on it, we found that in the over expression mutant of APL1, the transcription factors MYB2, MYC1, MYC2 as well as their downstream effects gene were all up-regulated expressed, which maybe caused the sensitive of the mutant to the ABA and JA. The constitutive over expression of ALP1---ALP1-OE mutant also performed the same phenotype with the ALP1 T-DNA activation tagging mutant, comfirming that the above-mentioned phenotype was caused by the activation of ALP1 and ALP1 participated in the ABA / JA corssing signaling pathway.Over expression of ALP1 enhances resistance to Sclerotinia sclerotiorum which was mainly caused by decreased H2O2 production in alp1. The study of ALP1 expression patterns shows that it was localized in nucleolus and expression specially in guard cell. Results of FQ-PCR confirmed that ALP1 was induced to expression with cold stress but not heat shock. Meanwhile the bioinformation retrieval result implicated that ALP1 homologous genes response to biotic and abiotic stress at different degree. This implicated that proteins with J domain similar as ALP1 may be extensively involved in response to abiotic stress in plant.
