The Ulmus pumila var. sabulosa is one of suitable plant in Hunshandake sandland, it is most concentrated in Lan banner, Xilinguole League.Field surveys of the Ulmus pumila var. sabulosa population in different interference and terrain conditions in Lan banner, study on the age structure and distribution pattern and adaptation to the environment in the way of population ecology and statistical methods. The main conclusions are as follows:(1) Time sequence prediction shows that the population of the Ulmus pumila var. sabulosa the stability is gradually weakened under interference. It is increasing growth of population under the light disturbance; It is declining type of population under severe and moderate disturbance.(2) The population of Ulmus pumila var. sabulosa is distribution pattern was clustering, from sapling to grown up tree, the clustering degree was gradual transformation for random distribution. The human disturbance would affect the distribution pattern of Ulmus pumila var. sabulosa population distribution pattern. The areas for the highest congregation were in the areas with 25 m2 around the mother trees.(3) Distribution density of in the fixed sand dunes was influenced significantly by the slope direction, and not influenced significantly by the slope position, the density intensity was highest in shady slope.(4) The soil water content in the fixed sand dunes was shade slope > sunny slope > top slope, the organic matter content trends was shade slope > sunny slope > top slope the density and the organic matter content and the soil water content showed the same trend. It is in favor of regeneration succession of the Ulmus pumila var. sabulosa but not in favor of growth where in shade slope of the fixed sand dunes.
