There is closely hydraulic connection between river and groundwater in the nature. There are not only in water exchange, but also solute and pollution migration between them. As human large-scale exploitation of water in well field nearby a river, the river is more remarkable to groundwater system's influence, and the interaction mechanism between them is more complicated. Therefore, river and groundwater relations become a hot academic research and cutting-edge issues. In northern China, getting water in well field nearby a river is a common way to extract groundwater from aquifer. River side well field, due to its advantages in water quantity and quality, is widely used for water supply in most regions in our country. As people in the past on the river's groundwater supply mechanism of relatively weak, results in evaluation of water in well field nearby a river to the exploitation of resources may be inconsistent with the actual amount, and the lower the reliability of assessment. Therefore, a correct understanding of the evolution of the relationship between river and groundwater is of great significance to water resources assessment in well field nearby a river. With the support of Chinese National Natural Foundation, which is related to the dynamics mechanism and the numerical simulation between river and groundwater, this paper studies the evolution of the relationship between river and groundwater dynamics process, applies the indoor sand trap test to simulate the evolution of the relationship between river and ground- water dynamics process, and discusses the evolution of the relationship between river and groundwater influencing factors. The results show as follows:(1) Simulate the dynamic process of the evolution of the relationship between river and groundwater in the laboratory.Simulate the dynamic mechanism of evolution between the river and groundwater from the same drawdown curve to the direction of disjunction and its flow characteristics.(2) Discuss on the impact factors of the evolution of the relationship between river and groundwater. It is through analysis of the experiment results to discuss on the impact factors of the evolution of the relationship between river and groundwater, such as river level, the water level of groundwater, the river bed medium permeability, the aquifer medium heterogeneity and heterogeneity, the river depth, and so on.(3) Draw the conclusion that when the river level disjoints with the groundwater level, there is a hanging saturated zone below the riverbed, and the thickness of it is approximately equal to the river depth. The above research results provide certain scientific basis to the research which evolved for the relations between river and groundwater, lay the foundation for the numerical simulation, and bring in profits to water resources exploitation in well field nearby a river.
