Optics is such a subject which has a long history. Research and harness of optics greatly promote the development of human society. Especially, with the fast development of the modern science and technology, optics and electronics combine together, and it shows a very strong prospect. A large number of new products come forth, and promote the level of social productivity. Optical device for distance measurement, as one of these new products, brings outstanding advantages to people's life and work, and it has versatile applications on military affairs, civil affairs and industrial affairs. Long and middle distance measurement systems are perfect and have fruitful functions. There are some optical devices for very close distance measurement, but they are not so good and have several aspects to be promoted. This paper focuses on researching the optical measurement system for close quarters. It has both practical sense and good market foreground.There are many optical methods to measure distance, such as laser pulse measurement and phase difference measurement. Based on analyzing and discussing the theory of phase difference measurement, this paper shows a totally new method of distance measurement. It's the imaging law of lens. For this new method, this article undertakes very thorough theory analysis, deduces expressions, compiles related calculation program, gets measurement data through software, constructs the imaging system, and designs the power circuit and image distance circuit which has low noise.This paper totally includes five chapters. The first chapter, introduction, mainly introduces some materials, present development and technologies about distance measurement. Then it educes the research task. The second chapter, distance measurement system for close quarters, firstly analyses the applications of phase difference measurement, then shows a totally new method of distance measurement. It's the imaging law of lens. This chapter deduces expressions, constructs and analyses the imaging system. The third chapter, design of the power circuit and image distance circuit which has low noise. In this chapter, it designs the power circuit and amplifying circuit according to the rules of the distance measurement system. The fourth chapter, test and results analysis, compiles related calculation program, gets measurement data through software test, and gets some useful graphs. In this chapter, it analyses reasons and show some good ideas to promote the imaging system. The fifth chapter, summarization and expectation, summarizes the whole task, shows some problems, and gives several proposes in order to promote the quality of the system and avail the coming research.
