Forsythia suspensa communities in Lishan Natural Reserve and Manghe Natural Reserve,Shanxi,were studied by quantitative ecology methodology,including the classification and ordination of those communities,the species diversity,and the interspecific relationships of the dominant species,and the results of this research could be take as the basis for the protection and utilization of Forsythia suspensa communities.35 plots were divided into 8 associations by TWINSPAN,which were: (1)Ass.Forsythia suspense-Carex lanceolata,(2)Ass.Forsythia suspense-Carex lanceolata+Rabdosia glaucocalyx,(3)Ass.Forsythia suspense-Carex lanceolata +Potentilla chinensis,(4)Ass.Forsythia suspense+Ostryopsis davidiana-Carex lanceolata,(5)Ass.Forsythia suspense-Carex lanceolata+Potentilla chinensis+ Syneilesis aconitifolia,(6)Ass.Forsythia suspense+Juglans mandshurica-Carex lanceolata,(7) Ass.Forsythia suspense-Carex lanceolata+Anemone tomentosa,(8) Ass.Forsythia suspense+Vitex negundo var.heterophylla-Selaginella tamariscina.The result of DCA showed that the first axis of samples DCA ordination chart reflected the light,the first axis of Forsythia suspense communities dominant species DCA ordination chart reflected moisture gradient.The distribution of the dominant species determines the distribution pattern of plant communities to some extent.The species diversity was studied by using richness indices,species diversity indices and evenness indices,the results indicated the ranking of the species diversity indices was follows:Ass.Forsythia suspense-Carex lanceolata+Potentilla chinensis +Syneilesis aconitifolia>Ass.Forsythia suspense-Carex lanceolata+Rabdosia glaucocalyx>Ass.Forsythia suspensa+Ostryopsis davidiana-Carex lanceolata>Ass.Forsythia suspense+Juglans mandshurica-Carex lanceolata>Ass.Forsythia suspense-Carex lanceolata>Ass.Forsythia suspense-Carex lanceolata+Anemone tomentosa>Ass.Forsythia suspense+Vitex negundo var.heterophylla-Selaginella tamariscina>Ass.Forsythia suspense-Carex lanceolata+Potentilla chinensisThe interspecific relationships among 40 dominant species of Forsythia suspense communities were studied by using x~2-test for 2×2 contingency tables,Pearson's correlation coefficient test and Spearman's rank correlation coefficient test respectively.The results showed that:(1) 27 species-pairs were significant(P<0.05) and higher significant(P<0.01) positive association,made accounted for 3.46%in the total species-pairs,11 species-pairs were significant(P<0.05) and higher significant(P<0.01) negative association made accounted for 1.41%in the total species-pairs by x~2 test.44 species-pairs were higher significant(P<0.01),while 42 species-pairs were significant(P<0.05),which was tested by Pearson's correlation coefficient.780 species-pairs were tested by Spearman's rank correlation coefficient 27 species-pairs were higher significant(P<0.01) positive correlation and 28 species-pairs were significant(P<0.05) positive correlation,made accounted for 7.05%,4 species-pairs were higher significant(P<0.01) negative correlation and 14 species-pairs were significant(P<0.05) negative correlation,made accounted for 2.31%.The interspecific relationships was not significant(P>0.05) in the most dominants of this community by Spearman's rank correlation coefficient test.(2) According to the adaptability to the environment and the relationships between plants and environment,40 species were divided into 2 ecological species groups: Ostryopsis group and Anemone group.
