The Characteristic Of Mineralogy And Geochemistry Of The Houxianyu Borate Deposit In Liaoning Province

The borate desopites which host in Liaoning province,northesat China represent the biggest scale Precambrian borate evaporation basin. The borate as well as other deposites,such as iron and uranium appear together has attract more eye form the geologist.This paper has been financed by Nation Nature Science Foundation of china(NO.40373023).The fieldwork and some testing work study on the mineralogical,petrolgical and geochemical characteristies and the short-ware infrared spectroscopy of the K,Na-bearing rocks, ore-bearing rock series as well as tourmalin indicate that:(1) The content of B2O3 in the ore-bearing strata correlated positively with its thickness. The average content of B2O3 in the ore-body have less evidence correlation with its thickness. (2)There is a enrichment of potassium near the ore body, and a minus correlation coefficient between potassium and natrium in this area.(3) The tourmaline in the wall rock have close and spatio-temporal relationship with the borates. The MgO/FeO rate near the borate deposit is higher than the value which is far away.(4) The tourmaline almost all consisted in the superstratum and it's formed in the course of rich-boron liquid took metasomatism with the cover sediments. (5) The Fe-Mg minerals is popular and high conents in this place.The most of the Chlorites in the ore-bearing strata is Mg-Chlorite, which indicated the form environment of the deposit is rich in Mg,and it in line with the conclusion that Mg is the best precipitator of the borate. (6) The original rocks in the basin are not normal volcanic rocks or volcanic clastic rocks, and they are clastic rocks which are alterated by the evaporation alteration .The initial environment where the Borates deposit happened is evaporation basin.
