Bohai Sea, which is lied in the mid-latitude zone of the Earth, is the highest latitude sea of our country and is the major oil energy base of china. In the sea, several oil and gas fields have been developed, and dozens of petroleum platforms have been put into production. The density of Marine production and transport is very high. With the economic development, the status of Bohai Sea in China's national economy is increasing day by day. Because of the direct influence of cold air from Siberia, Liaodong Bay in the north of Bohai Sea would appear different ice conditions, Sea ice can be serious when pushed over oil platforms, damaged port facilities, blockaded Channel, damaged ships, made maritime transport paralysis, caused tremendous damage and loss to offshore establishment. In order to ensure the safety of produce in ice area, it is necessary to study the ice of Liaodong Bay for forecasting and defending the dangerousness of ice and the measuring thickness of ice plays an important part in it.After reading lots of publications of thickness measuring of sea ice, the writer summarized the developing process of measuring thickness of ice, actuality, and future. We particularly analyze the characters and the theory of those used methods. With the characteristics that the sea ice is thin in the mid-latitude, we use the "radar - laser" dual-mode principle to measure the single-point of the area. It provides a new way for the thickness accurate measurement of ultra-thin sea ice.This thesis analyzes the measurement method in theory and tests the possibility of that in practice. It introduces the working principle, the system components and test analysis of the "radar-laser" ice thickness measurement instrument. Feasibility Test results showed that the equipment can be better measured the thickness of thin ice. The scene measurement and calibration results on the JZ9-3 oil platform showed that the equipment is operating well and have a higher precision. It can meet the sea ice continuous, real-time, accurate measurement. It can provide accurate data for sea ice monitor in the area and provide security for production and sea transport in winter.
