Automatic profiling buoy is known as Argo buoy or called as profiling drift, which dive and float by changing its buoyancy.The drifter floats freely on the sea surface after being deployed. When the transmition of initial information and localization are finished, the bladder will be deflated with taking out the oil from the hull to the drifter by the fluid drive. The drifter will dive to the designed depth since its volume gets small to decrease the buoyancy. The drifter will suspend under water for the scheduled period, then ascent to the surface by injecting the oil to the bladder. The vertical profile data of water temperature and salinity will be collected. The pump will blow the gasbag and push the drifter to the surface, which can help the data transmition via satellite. After the data transmition, the new dive will start to the next period, till there is no power in the battary.The flow chart and control circuit are designed to make the drifter work normally. The design of power surpply management with low power is done to keep its working period, as well as calculating the volume accurately. The weight also is adjusted according to the historical data, and the drifter can suspend in the water, which can save the power.Combining the developing practice, this paper introduces the principle and composing of the drifter, emphatically discusses control system, mainly including lower-power dada collecting circuit and weight ajustmengt. With the analysis of the test data, design items haved been proven. Development direction of this drifter is put forward at the end of the article.
