Holography is used to record and reproduce the optical information of objects, with great research values in the field of optical stereoscopic display. Stereogram, as a branch of holography, could reproduce the original object with stereoscopic image. And it is featured with flexible producing methods, adequate shooting materials, strong eyesight impulse and high-quality stereoscopic scene display in simple a way. Holography has developed into the digital era since late 20th century, and it could get more materials with the generation and analysis of computer images. High resolution digital cameras and digital videos have made it easier to take the picture and store the image.The development of spatial light modulation technology has provided the replacement for the film, the classical carrier of stereogram. It has become more and more important to develop the automated shooting instrument in stereoscopic display.The automatic shooting system for hologram units consists of spatial light modulator, optical path and automated recording device. The whole system is controlled by the computer. The optical image transferred from the digital image stored in the computer through the digital spatial light modulator would be focused into a image spot by optical system. And the recording device record the image spot in the specific position on the holograph precisely.An automatic positioning system is designed in this paper and the automatic transferring from computers images of hologram spots has been realized. The system consists of PC and MCU and the data is transferred through the USB bus between them. PC, which is the core of the whole system, would show the selected pictures in the spatial light modulator in a certain order, and transfer the data to MCU in the form of instructions to set parameters like speed, interval or exposing time to control the motion of the system. And all data transfers are initialed by PC. MCU,the executor of motion, receives the PC instructions and moves as told.The system is featured with friendly interface, enough functions, rapid response and high precision. PC program with friendly interface accepts parameters sent by users and controls the device states. It consists of image display, motion control, parameter set and device adjustment. The USB port could transmit data much faster than serial port and be connected conveniently with hot-plug.The basic principles of stereogram and shooting methods are firstly introduced. Then a more detail specification of hardware and software is brought forward. It stresses on the system's configuration of hardware, PC software and MCU program, data transmission and the way. And the related knowledge on USB bus and WDM driver is also included.
