Design And Establishment Of Fuzhou GIS-T Based On ArcEngine

The article discussed and studied designing and practicing issues of Geographical Information System for Transportation(GIS-T).Based on analysis of literatures about how to apply GIS-T in practice,it aimed Fuzhou city zone of highly dense road network as the studying area,gathering base geographic data,road network data and corresponding attribute data,and transportation facility data;choosing Geodatabase Geographical Database(GDB)as the saving instrument;designing attribute domain, subtype,planar topology,geometric network,and relationship class;achieving background dataset,traffic dataset,and public transportation dataset;then established the Geodatabase Geographical Database of Fuzhou road transportation.After that,this paper put ArcGIS9.0 as the developed platform and Microsoft Visual Basic6.0 as the developing environment,introduced the GIS functional module ArcEngine,relied on electronic map,and established Fuzhou Geographical Information System for Transportation,where we could achieve major functions such as display,search,browse, analysis and planning of Fuzhou road transportation data.Based on this system,we developed corresponding subject of transportation model—public transportation model, which can improve usage rates of transportation facilities,reduce traffic flow of no need, mitigate crowded situations of city transportation,and offer a guide line to outgoing people.
