Groundwater is an important component of entire water resources, as well as one of the valuable resources that all lives relay on. Also, it is a sensitive factor among the complex system of the ecological environment, whose changes may influence the ecosystem and natural balance status. The excessive exploitation of groundwater will trigger a series of geological environment and affect the livelihood of the people in varying degrees. It is a question, which involves both human and natural, of how to develop and utilize the groundwater resources in a scientific and rational way.Scientific management on groundwater pumping can be carried out through measures of administration, economy and technology. Administration means that certain laws and regulations can be established to limit the collecting of groundwater. Economic measure is done be applying taxes on groundwater collecting to control the unnecessary pumping. Technical measure is to come up with optimized methods of groundwater pumping by studying and evaluating the groundwater resource. This paper focus on studying optimized pumping scheme in the condition of protecting geological environment from the technical perspective, which is simulating water flow in the research area, as well as analyzing and comparing different collecting schemes. This article states the optimized methods and steps on groundwater pumping based on GIS technology, which covers studies on optimized model and schemes of groundwater pumping. First, with the help of GMS, a simulant model is constructed for studying the flow of groundwater in multi-layer research areas, including the 3D hydrogeology conceptual model and the mathematical model for numerical simulation. From those above, the foundation of optimizing, analyzing and disposing the schemes of groundwater pumping is formed. SOLID module, which is part of GMS software, is used to build a 3D model of the layer in the research area. Therefore, it will provide a excellent platform to generalize the hydrological and geological condition in the research area. After the hydrogeology conceptual model is constructed, the mathematical model of the research area is built and identified by the method of emendation. After that, several real time test data on water level in different test time period are selected to validate the model, and the result shows the rationality of the established hydrogeology conceptual model as well as the mathematical model. Then, the trend of the changes of the groundwater flow in different pumping scheme is predicted by calculating the scheme through the model of optimal groundwater pumping. According to the model calculations about the water level changes and the change trends of the groundwater flow, suggestions and evaluations about the rationality and scientificity of the groundwater pumping scheme are proposed, which can be used as references to the rational exploitation of groundwater in the research area.
