Global positioning system(GPS) with the advantage of accurate, fast,all-weather, economical, efficient and no need to see each other, have been get an extensive application in surveying. Particularly, convenient for control network survey, deformation observation, precise engineering survey and control aerial survey. GPS can provide high precision three-dimensional coordinates, but geodetic height can not Directly apply.It will have a bigger economical sense, which convert geodetic height to normal height.Currently, the best method is make use of GPS data, DEM data and gravity data, and precisely determine a local geoid. But to general engineering departments, they don' t have the ability of acquiring the necessary gravity data. Therefore, the method of fitting is still their first choice to convert GPS height.Aiming at this problem, the thesis carry on a certain study from the GPS height fitting. Firstly, it systematically introduce the theory of GPS height application and fitting, and simplely explained some main method of GPS height fitting. Then, Kriging method is introduced in detail. Kriging methods rely on the notion of autocorrelation, the predictions has linear, impartial, superior characteristics. Elaborating the foundation theories of Kriging method and mathematics models of Ordinary Kriging, Simple Kriging, Universal Kriging. Furthermore, combining with GPS leveling data in a certain region, carry on related experiments and research of GPS height fitting based on Kriging method, got some beneficial conclusions. Finally, putting forward the synthetic model to put together Kriging method and polynomial surface fitting model. The synthetic model is more perfect in adaptability and theory. using actual the engineering data and carrying on different method of GPS height fitting to experiment, by comparison and analysis, the result certificate that method has certain superiority.
