Primary Study On Biology And EAG Response Of Sting Wasps In Shaan Xi

Sting wasps mainly refer to Vespidae and Polistidae species which belongs to Hymenoptera Vespoidea. In Recent years, the harm of sting wasps becoming so seriously that it mainly threat to the life of human beings.This paper mainly contains the species, biological of sting wasps and electroantennogram response of Vespa velutina nigrithorax which aim to control the harm of sting wasps in Shaanxi. The results of this paper were as follow:(1)In Shaanxi,the main species of sting wasps were Vespa velutina nigrithorax, Vespa tropica ducalis, Vespa mandarinia mandarinia,Vespa basalis.(2)In the mid of Shaanxi, The initial period of waking of Vespa velutina nigrithorax was in the middle April, and hibernation period was November. Vespa velutina nigrithorax mainly nidificate in tree trunks,thrown cave dwellings and so on,Vespa velutina nigrithorax re omnivorous.The activates of Vespa velutina nigrithorax changed according to temperature. The eclosion time of Vespa velutina nigrithorax had no regularity.(3)In Southern Shaanxi, three kinds of wasps have the behavior of collect pollen. The maximum time of watertaking of three kinds of wasps was14:00, the nesting locations were tree trunks, tree branchs, shrubs, hassock, stonewalls and houses. nest structure of three kinds of wasps was similar, from centre to edge ,the comb showed regular arrangement except new comb that formed ring areas, the maximum ratio was pupa, and then Larva, the last Egg. The three kinds of wasps had similar activity regulation that present the double peak trends, the maximum were 7:00～9:00 and 18:00, 28℃was the optimum temperature. The harmful wasps which threat to the beekeeping were Vespa velutina nigrithorax and Vespa mandarinia mandarinia, the maximum time of prey was 11:00～14:00 in one day in Auguest.(4)With the help of EAG, the activity of Vespa velutina nigrithorax to 10 different kinds of volatile oil were determined, the results showed that, the highest is opsmanthus fragrans lours oil, and then the arabian jasmine, the activity of Citrus grandis flower, orange, apple flower were to certain extent. These materials can be the primary selection for attractant or Repellent of wasps.
