Taking Populus euphratica forest at Tarim P.euphratice River Nature Reserve in middle reaches of Tarim Rive as interest area ,and by the methods of execavation,high pressure washing and root cut ,this paper studied the abilities of P.euphratica in sharing risks and in foraging and storing basic resources under heterogeneous resources environment ,and the cloning characteristics of its root sucker from the viewpoint of cloning ecology.Taking Populus euphratica at Xinjiang Tarim P.euphratice River Nature Reserve as test object and by the methods of analysis of remote sensing data, precise positioning by DGPS, low altitude camera, biological statistics, analysis and classification of anatomy, and so on ,this paper analysis correlation Of the Soil structure change course of Tarim river between reproductive strategy of P.euphratica.The results showed that the offshoot root of P.euphratica was uniaxial. The angle between two horizontal roots in the same growth direction was 180°on average, while that between vertical root and horizontal root was about 900-1000, forming a T-shaped spatial structure.The mean perimeter of genets was longer than that of ramets ,and the horizontal roots were frustum-shaped .There existed substance transfer between two horizontal roots of P.euphratica;The results also showed that it is a certain role in promoting for P.euphratica by discharge water from the upper reaches of the Tarim rive, but also can not guarantee that natural recovery needs of the population, especially the status of the seed multiplication regeneration and vanishment failed to ease in the region. Long-term and sustainable water supply is the most important way, which to ensure the natural regeneration of population P..euphratica,on the one hand。In an adequate supply of water resource under the conditions, P.euphratica will be more energy into vegetative propagation, and form lots of clonal progeny around the populations ,maybe maximize to using resources; On the other hand, after flooded rive bed provided the necessary conditions for P.euphratica seeds Implantation germination and seedling growth, seedlings can occupied new habitats to expand the scope of the population survival, therefore, the population of P. euphratica's recovery can be achieved by water resources.Finally,P. euphratica protection and restoration of policy suggestions proposed by the research of P. euphratica origin clonal growth and sexual reproduction.
