| The spatial metadata of digital city is the spatial metadata set of many realms, many professions and many sections, presently it is facing the difficult problem of sharing of the different spatial metadata by virtue of many kinds of spatial metadata standard. For executing effective management to it and promoting its interchange and share, this text puts forward the building project of the service system of the digital city's spatial metadata according to the advanced information technology, for example, XML,Web Services,Z39.50 protocol etc.On the base of investigating to the domestic and international spatial metadata standards and the spatial metadata management systems, the author brings out the main research contents of the thesis:(1) Analyzing the common character of all kinds of spatial metadata standard existed in digital city building, such as the frame mode, level, structure and type of the spatial metadata.(2) Studying the conversion solution between the spatial metadata ( It precisely defined the construction and content of metadata) and XML Schema( It defined the structure, content and semantic of the XML document to conveniently build the model of it),realizing to express and store the spatial metadata with the XML document.(3) Researching the service architecture, service model and of the digital city spatial service metadata according to Web Services technique, detailed designing its structure from 3 aspects, separately analyzing the service and function of the center node and the distribute node and the whole system ,and bringing out the search process of the whole system.(4) Studying the choice principle and solution of the core metadata of the center node; discussing the building strategy and solution of the content metadata database of the distributed node on base of the object relation database, such as Oracle 9i. Finally, making the summary to the full text work and pointing out the next step of diligently direction.
