Studied on 0.3-3mm root distribution and single root persistent tension resistance properties of four plants, The results showed as follows:The root distribution of Caragana microphylla and sabina vulgaria were 0.5-1mm;The root distribution of salix psammophila was 1-2mm; The root distribution of artemisia sphaerocephala was 1.5-2.5mm.The ultimate tension and root diameter of caragana microphylla salix psammophila sabina vulgaria, thin root were power function relationship, artemisia sphaerocephala ultimate tension and root diameter were linear relationship, The increasing speed of tension resistance was caragana microphylla>salix psammophila>sabina vulgaria>artemisia sphaerocephala along with the increasing of diameter, The relationship maybe divided into three kind of types between limit and the diameter: caragana microphylla and salixpsammophila were increasing type, the greatest elongation ratio increases with increasing of diameter;artemisia sphaerocephala was a decreasing type; sabina vulgaria showed single-peak curve , the greatest elongation ratio showed single-peak curve , the limit variable increased along with the increasing diameter, reached a maximum value then assumed the drop tendency.The ultimate tension and ultimate emergency in growth peak period were greater than growth period; The ultimate tension of middle root (1.15mm) and thick root (2.05 mm) both increase with increasing of soil moisture content , the ultimate emergency was different because of plant species; The ultimate tension and ultimate emergency increase with increasing of root density between 1.9-2.4mm.Made stress- emergency curves by choosing any root, to same kind of shrub, stress of thin root(0.35mm)was greatest, stress- emergency curves of middle toot(1.15mm)and thick root(2.05mm)was close, stress of middle toot was greater than thick root, ultimate emergency of thick root> middle toot> thin root; To different kinds of shrub, while emergency was identical, stress of thick root> middle toot> thin root; ultimate emergency of caragana microphylla>salix psammophila>sabina vulgaria>artemisia sphaerocephala; while the diameter of four shrub was identical, stress increase with increasing of moisture content and single root density; The ultimate stree and ultimate emergency in growth peak period were greater than growth period.This paper made preliminary comparison about the tensile property of four kinds of same age plant root, the tensile property of caragana microphylla>salix psammophila>sabina vulgaria>artemisia sphaerocephala.
