Objective To identify effects of expression on GFAP,NCAM and GABA receptor in the Rat Hippocampus after Exposure to 1800M Hz Radiofrequency Field. methods 24 SD(Sprague Dawlay)rats(4 week-old)were randomly divided into four groups(6 rats in each)after one week,for environmental adaptation,exposured groups had were respectively and continuously radiated for 21 days(12 hours/day)by 1800MHz microwave fields with power density of 0.5 mW/cm~2 or 1.0 mW/cm~2.Simultaneously,respectively sham-controls were carried out.After the exposure rats were sacrificed and dissected the brains,The brains tissue sections were performed by immunohistochemistry to demonstrate the expression of GFAP,NCAM and GABA receptor.lmmunoreactivity in the hippocampus was analyzed by computer asisted image analysis system.Results GFAP expression:Compared to the control groups,there was no significant difference of GFAP expresson of two exposure groups in the area of CA1,CA3 and DG(P>0.05)NCAM expression:Compared to the control group,NCAM expression in the 0.5 mW/cm~2 exposure group,decreased in the area of CA3(P<0.05)but not in the area of CA2(P>0.05).and there was no significant difference of NCAM expression between the 1.0 mW/cm~2 exposure group and sham-control group in the area of CA2,CA3. GABA receptor expression:Compared to the control group,GABA receptor expression in the 0.5 mW/cm~2 exposure group,decreased in the area of CA3(P<0.05)but not in the other area(P>0.05).there was no significant difference of GABA receptor expression between the 1.0 mW/cm~2 exposure group and sham control group in the all of area on hippocampus(P>0.05).Conclusion there was a decrease in theexpression of NCAM and GABA receptor in CA3 of hippocampus in rats after exposure to 1800MHz Radiofrequency Field with power density of 0.5 mW/cm~2.
