Objective To identify effects of expression on NMDA receptor subunits NR2A and NR2B in rat hippocampus exposure to 1800MHz radiofrequency field. Methods Female Wistar rats at age of 4 week-old were randomly divided into 4 groups(12 rats in each). Two groups were exposed and another two groups were sham-exposed. Rats in the experi-menttal groups were continuously exposed to 1800MHz microwave radiation with power density either 0.5 mW/cm~2 or 1.0 mW/cm~2 12 hours per day for 21 days. Meanwhile, sham-exposd dams were carried out respectively. The brain tissue sections were performed by immunohistochemistry to demonstrate the expression of NR2A and NR2B. Immunoreactivity in the hippocampal CA1 , CA3 and Dentate Gyrus was analyzed by computer-assisted image analysis system.
