The polder construction is the high-yielding water fields in Jianghan Plain. From the development history of the polder construction, there were three climax in the Jianghan Plain. The polder construction is the only way to survive for people in low-lying areas. It laid the agricultural base of the middle and lower reaches of the Yangtze River Plain. After the founding of the inning, the polder construction conforms to the law of value, basically in line with the agricultural plains region's economic recovery and development needs. At the same time, it directly changed the ecological environment of the lake, and the resources were undermined. Meanwhile it speeded up the demise of the lake group. The ecological environment of the lakes was serious impacted on and the ecological balance was undermined. The polder construction resulted the negative impact to the social and economic activities. The article reviews the process of the polder construction and its ecological effects from a historical perspective. By analyzing, the negative relevant can be easily found between the reclamation intensity and the wetland evolution. The polder reclamation not only changed the spatial patterns of wetlands and reduced the biodiversity but also influence the Sustainability of district development. In order to realize wetlands sustainable development of the Jianghan Plain, we must well-coordinate and balance the relationship between human and environment, and further take effective protection of wetland resources.
