The terrain simulation model is an important part of virtual battlefield environment. Its quality affects the correctness and reliability of model data's application, analysis and decision-making directly. Accordingly, this paper pursued systematical researches on the quality analysis and logical estimation toward terrain simulation model data. Its main contents are as follows:1.Towards the traits of terrain simulation model, such as lots of data-sources,generate methods and complex procedure, this paper takes the progress of terrain simulation model as its main clew, emphatically analyzed terrain complexity,data-source,modeling methods and the error brought by the visualization process and its effect on the quality of the terrain simulation model, provided dependence for the control of model simulation model quality and building of quality model.2.Based on the quality analysis conclusion of terrain simulation model, take the last research of spatial data quality in home and abroad as references, the terrain simulation model is divided into two classes here: one is based on overlay or fusion of geographic element, the other is on texture mapping; and also puts forward the corresponding quality model, which is to adopt of quantificational quality element and non- quantificational quality element to describe the quality of the terrain simulation model. Based on all of these, this paper established one,two,three grade standards of quantificational quality element, and also subdivision the evaluation standard of data quality analysis for the terrain simulation model.3.For the characteristics of each quality element of the terrain simulation model, this paper puts forward the corresponding method of quality check and evaluation, and realized the idiographic algorithm of positional accuracy of the terrain simulation model.The research of this paper provides scientific foundation for future production and quality evaluation of the terrain simulation model data, which has important theoretical direction significance and practical application value.
