Study Of Sedimentary Characteristics And The Law Of Coal Accumulation Of Taiyuan Formation In Tengbei Coal Mine

By the method and principle of the coal basin analysis, and combining analysis methods such as sedimentology, stratigraphy, tectonics, petrology, coal quality and sequence stratigraphy, based on all kinds of geologic documents and predecessors' research fruits, author of this paper have studied systematically on the sedimentary characteristics and the law of coal accumulation of Taiyuan Formation in Tengbei coal mine.Taiyuan Formation is the major coal-bearing strata in Tengbei coal mine, this paper studies in detail on the rock type, lithologic characteristics and sedimentary structure, and divides the depositional system and analyzes systematically genetic facies association of Taiyuan coal-bearing strata in Tengbei coal mine. It suggests that Taiyuan Formation is divided into two depositional systems: tidal flat depositional system and barrier-lagoon depositional system. The types of sedimentary facies include the mud flat, the sand flat, the mixed flat, the tidal channel, the tide flat, the lagoon, the barrier and so on. It reveals sedimentary characteristics and the law of spatial distribution of all kinds of sedimentary systems. At the same time it analyzes systematically the characteristics of coal petrology and coal quality of mineable or partly mineable coal bedding in Taiyuan Formation. Finally it sums up the law of coal accumulation of Taiyuan Formation, based on interrelationship of palaeobotany, palaeoclimate, palaeogeography and palaeotectonics, and evolution of sedimentary environment.
