In this paper, problems in microalgae culturing and solution methods were introduced, then a actual application of laser technology in this field was also studied. Platymonas Subcoydiformis, a most important kind of bait algae was irradiated by Nd:YAP laser and the optimal laser dose, power and duration time were researched. Then the biological effect induced by laser irradiation was studied in virtue of laser scanning confocal microscope, LSCM, UV/VIS/NIR spectrophotometer and transmission electron microscope, TEM simultaneity. At last, individual high quality algae was selected according to the physiological parameters of Platymonas Subcoydiformis. The study provides reference for the further application of laser in algae research.Firstly, the research background and the significance of this dissertation were summarized. Then the status of laser technology application in algae field was introduced. Problems of laser application in algae mutation and breeding were pointed out and then the research method in this study was given.Secondly, Platymonas Subcoydiformis was irradiated by Nd: YAP laser and LD laser. And then the influence on the growth rate of Platymonas Subcoydiformis was studied using different lasers and congeneric laser with different output power and exposure time. The experiment result shows that Nd:YAP laser has a better effect over LD laser with a optimal condition of 10W, 55s.Thirdly, the influence of Nd:YAP laser irradiation on the biology content, auto fluorescence intensity and area of chloroplast as well as the nucleic acid were studied, using UV/VIS/NIR Spectrophotometer, LSCM and TEM. The results have shown that laser irradiation can accelerate the biology quantity accumulation, improve its photosynthesis activity and nucleic acid activity. Finally, after irradiated by Nd:YAP laser, two individual high quality algae were selected from the irradiated group by mensurating their growth rate, the content of chlorophyll, the concentration of protein and the content of amylase as well as the nitratase activity of Platymonas Subcoydiformis.
