From 1970's, the technique of acoustic detection has a rapid development for the triturating of sound locater and development in measurement of acoustic detection, which provides a plain stage for study of soil indicator and microstructure.Water contentω,porosity ratio e and densityρare main index of silty clay's physical appearance, the wave velocity traveling in media with a quantity of information of soil has very close relationship with these properties. Clays with different water content are measured by RS-ST01C sound locater system; Velocities in different compression force with different weather condition are being measured. Water content, porosity ratio and density are all counted in experiment stated above. Then, the variation tendency of velocities withω,e andρis analyzed. The relationship can be set up and taken a detailed discuss by making figure of physical appearance versus dilatational and shear. The following results are obtained: the velocity of dilatational wave and silty clay's water content have a good relationship. The Physic-Mechanical appearance is just presentation, the effective of it on velocity of P-wave propagation is by microstructure promotion.By analysis above and further discussion, we conclude a series factor to understand the varied velocity as viewed form Physic-Mechanical to microstructure. Then the test model which is based on microstructure model is built, and formula is established at the same time. The formula is a summation formula of integration of the effectiveness by factors stated above. This series tested the silty clay by using the technique of acoustic detection. The process of the change in soil's microstructure is being proved, which can be used in the studying relationship between Physic-Mechanical appearance and P-wave velocity. It is curtained that the study will be of value to using velocity to conversion change ofthe Physic-Mechanical appearance in excavating the foundation ditch.
