Soil samples were collected from seven mangrove areas from South China. Samples were pretreated and applied to three kinds of selective media adding with different antibiotics. One hundred and twenty-seven isolates were selected. At the same time, genome DNA was obtained from the samples for bioprospecting of Miromonosporaceae. All the samples showed positive results.Evaluation of bioactivities of the 114 rare actinomycetes isolates resulted that, 17 strains showed activity against B16 cell, which was 13.4 % of total strains; and 6 strains were active against MRSA, which was 4.7 % of total strains. The isolates were primarily classified according to their morphology on YE plates .They were devided into 13 groups, and 18 representative isolates were selected and putatively identified to the genus level based on 16S rDNA sequence analysis and cell wall amino acid analysis by TLC. They were classified to 3 genus of Actinoplanes, Micromonospora and Verrucosispora. Neighbor-joining tree based on almost-complete 16S rRNA gene sequences showing the systematic relationship between the 18 strains. It is showed in this research that the distributions of Micromonosporaceae in different environment of this research were various. In mangroves Micromonospora were of predominant genus under our isolation strategy.
