Resource of Wanheshan Reserve of Hrons, in Fangchenggang,Guangxi was investigated in this paper, including resource ofArdeidae and plants, geographical location and sight character ofWanheshan, environmental facters, variety and amount of Herons inegrets-nested trees, the number and height of their nests. Besides, the egret excrement that accumulated on the ground was collected, then drying and weighing them up, measuring the content andadmeasurement of N, P, K this three kinds element in egretexcrement. By the above-mentioned studies, We ulteriorly learnabout the camp characteristics of Herons and their selection to plantspecies for building their nests. This will provide scientific bases forreinforcing the protection to Herons, their habitats and seasideplants, also provide a perfect habitat for survival and propagation ofHerons.1. There are about 131 species advanced plants belonging to 57families and 100 genera together in Wanheshan Reserve of Herons, in Fangchenggang, Guangxi. This area has a high biodiversity ofhabitats, species and ecosystems. There are 47 species of arbor plant,31 species of shrub plant, 40species of herbage plant, and 13speciesof ligneous liane in the plants registered, accounting for 35.88%,23.66%, 30.53% and 9.93% respectively. Moreover, much ofsalt-bearing plants samd-fixation plants, ornamental plants as wellas other other economic plants have been discovered in WanheshanReserve of Herons.2.There are 10 kinds of Herons resided in egrets-nested trees inWanheshan Reserve, including Bubulcus ibis,Egretta garzetta,Nyclicorax nyclicocax,Egretta alba,Ardeola bachus,Egrettaintermedia,Ardea purpurea,Egretta euphotes,Ardea andLxobrychus cinnamomeua On March every year, large number ofHerons migrated from south and began to build their nests on April, and May is a propagation peak-hour of Herons with the mostamount of Herons. In recent years, the number of Herons be inincrease year by year, there are more than 10000 grown Herons onpropagation peak-hour, combined with the nestlings, there will bemore than 20000 Herons. They build their nests in arbor trees ingroup, and has formed the large-scale and complicated egrets-nestedtrees.3. Herons build their nests in group. Besides this, they also have certain demands of location for their nests. First, they chooseappropriate kind of trees, secongly is the highness of nests in treesfrom ground. Herons usually choose big arbor trees have a highnessof 6 meter or above for nesting.4.The weight of egret excrement collected every month, has themaximum in May, is June secondly. By contrast, the imput amountof egret excrement under Bambusa stenostachya Hackis maximal, isthe Celtis philippineniss Blancoecondly, compared with other trees. From the results of the mensuration of the content of N, P, K thisthree kinds element in egret excrement, it showed that the content ofN element in egret excrement is maximal, is P element secondely, Kis the lowest.5.There are 10 kinds of trees that Herons like best as theirnesting trees. They are: Bambusa stenostachya Hack, Bambuschungii McClure,Syzygium hancei Merr.etPerry,Casuarinaequisetifolia L,Ficus wightiana Wall,Ficus altissima Bl,Diospyroshowii,Celtis philippineniss Blanco,Artocourpus tonkinensisA.Chey.ex.Gagn and Euphoria longan(Lour.) Steud.
