The Ranks Of Scientific Research Personnel And Scientific Institution Of History Of Science And Technology In Contemporary China

History of science is a multidiscipline of history and science. It concerns the development of science and technology, and its impact on social development. As a mature and independent subject, the paradigm of history of science was made in the late 1950s. At the beginning of the 20th century, several Chinese scholars devoted their selves to the history of Chinese science. In 1950s, the first professional research group of history of science was founded at Chinese Academy of Science. Chinese Society for History of Science was established in 1980s. Since then, Studies in the History of Natural Sciences and the Chinese Journal for the History of Sciences and technology have been published by the Society. All of these have played a significant role in developing the history of science in China.By the use of mathematical statistics and literature metrology, some interesting results are deduced through analyzing the group of core authors and key institution of history of science in China. Among them are as follows:(1) Carries on an overview to the evaluation of history of sciences and technology's periodical, discusses present condition of the research, management, evaluation and development of the periodical of history of sciences and technique in China.(2)Methods of Mathematical Statistics are used to analyses and research the relating dates between 1996 to 2005 from the flagship periodical, "Studies in the History of Natural Science" in China. This work announces to public a variety of directions and methods in the field of the history of sciences and technology of our country and it's development in the decade from the side. Using academic theories, the importance and international influence of the periodical in the field of the history of sciences and technology is explained. Further more, we make trend analysis to the future development of the periodical and give some suggestions.(3) To study the relationship between literatures and authors by using the theory of statistical and metrological analysis, Cobb-Douglas Function. We import the strength number of contribution of authors and establish an evaluation model of the authors by using mathematical methods, in order to reflect contribution of authors in a statistical period in the relating field objectively. Make sure the core authors of periodical according theories of metrology in the meantime. Takes the 5 kinds of important periodical in history of sciences for instance, studies the authors and the core authors, calculate the strength number of contribution of all the first authors. Proclaims the strength number of contribution of every core author of every periodical, makes out that this method is feasible and applicable.(4)Research units and institutions are principal part of research activity. Carrying on to them at nonjudgmental , not only can it provide basis of macroscopic management and control for the government availably, but also can urge research units and institutions to strive and promote science and technology's progress and development together by evaluating them equitably and objectively. The competition strength model is established to reflect competitive ability of the research units and institutions by using theories of metrology and mathematical methods. To take the history of science and technology for instance, the ranks of academics strong competitive ability has been made out.(5)Using analysis of current situation of periodical in history of sciences in China, we put forward the thinks and suggestions to promote study and improvement of scientific management.
