One of the key research points of global change is the regional land use change, the typical researches on different regions and scales have offered abundant regional information for the comprehensive research on land use change, and they are also the specific approaches to participate in the research on global environment change. Based on the 1985 and 2005 remote sensing data and the "3S" technology, the Self-Organizing Feather Map Network Cluster Model of land use change is set up. With the two-period data of the chosen sample area, the land use change pattern of sample area is studied. In addition, with the help of landscape ecology and spatial statistics, the characteristics of landscape pattern and spatial heterogeneity of land use on Zhangzhou are analyzed. The result shows that: (1)SOM model can well reflect the variation law of land use change in the sample area, and it also greatly extends the research methods of spatial analysis on land use change. (2)Landscape diversity and patch density have spatial heterogeneity and change greatly in different scale in the sample area. The more fine the sampling scale is, the more detailed characteristic of spatial heterogeneity can be got. (3) The impact of human activities in the northwest—southeast part was restricted by the terrain conditions, and the area impacted by human mainly lies in the directions of northwest—southeast.
