Drainage hole is an important technique of seepage control, the precise extent of its analysis directly determines the safety and investigation of a project. At the same time, the water head in the drainage-hole is an important reference of safety monitoring, diagnose, and feed-back. Generally speaking, the simulating method of drainage hole is not well developed, huge calculation time or low accuracy is the main problem. In the assessment of groundwater resource, the drainage hole is widely used, and it has the same problem of calculation. In this paper, the commonly used simulating methods of drainage-hole are comprehensively analyzed and summarized, among them, the rod-element method which is simple, less computer-time cost but not as precise, and the drainage-substructure method which is precise but computer-time cost, are deeply researched and improved. The main results are as follows:(1) by use of the idea of analytical-element, the traditional rod-element method is improved, and a new method, which is called line sink element method in this paper, is put forward. The new method has all the advantages of the traditional rod-element method, but has much more precision.(2) based on the theory of mapping, by use of node-mapping and isoparametric transformation, the uniform modeling and computing method is bring forward and is realized in ABAQUS, which minimized both the manual input and the probability of making mistakes.
