This thesis is based on the item of Prospect Technique Institute, China Geology Sciences, research gas hydrate drilling in plateau permafrost. Combine to the particular need of mud system in the process of drilling gas hydrate in plateau permafrost, we researched low temperature mud system which available for drilling gas hydrae in frozen soil, filled up the domestic shortage in this research field, and prepared for the item in mud system.After cognition of its exist circumstance in frozen soil and the sampling techniques, We got the key techniques of low temperature mud system. Based on low temperature liquid theory, after careful analysis about the property of gas hydrate and frozen soil, with the help of overseas experience, we researched low temperature mud basic liquid,additive,non-solid posture and low solid posture. Found out mud system which is suitable for drilling gas hydrate in frozen soil. In the end we appraised the optimize precept.In the process of research, how to solve low temperature mud system is the key technique. Suitable additives can solve this problem. So with the help of copartners, we exploited high polymer additives—FA and HT, which proved to be available in the mud system.
