It is important to explore the regional faults in urban area and its surroundings for the earthquake disaster mitigation .Satellite remote sensing technique can play an important role in regional faults exploration. Remote sensing image not only expresses the panorama of regional faults and tectonics on macroscopic view, but exposes the image information of regional faults directly. It offers profuse information for analysing the active states of faults, their correlation with seismicity, the tectonics developing earthquakes and strong earthquake preparation. In this paper we take Hangzhou as an example, introduce the treatment of extracting buried regional faults information covered by Quaternary unconsolidated sediments. The detailed rupture character is analyzed from a viewpoint of geological and topographic features, and the fault geometry and kinematics characteristics are revealed. Remote sensing image definition and precision were greatly improved by image enhancements and fusions. At the same time, combined with field surveying and measuring, find out the spatial distribution and movement character of the regional faults of Hangzhou area.In this paper, adapt multi-source remote sensing images data to extracting the concealed faults information. Meanwhile, combined with the geological and geomorphological background and objects interpretted, adapt multi-sort image enhancement methods to image treatment and get the best result on trial and error. At the same time, choose SAR image with the characteristic of all-weather work and penetrating to the surface feature to extract the weak structural information in the plain and make use of the method of SAR image de-speckling based on lifting wavelet transform to reduct speckle, The results show that the proposed filter performs better in many aspects in evaluation than the conventional filters do and get better result.
