The photosynthesis of Caragana microphylla Lam and Caragana korshinskii Kom were measured through the field experiments of Hunshandake, Maowusu and Bayannaoer sandland. The decline of photosynthetic rate of the two desert plants were analyzed by the relationship between photosynthesis and environmental factors. At the same time, the changes in the photosynthetic rate of the two plants to the single environmental factors (light and carbon dioxide concentration) were also analyzed. Finally, the photosynthetic model of Caragan microphylla Lam was established according to the experimental data and the photosynthetic rate was simulated. The software of SPSS, EXCEL, Visual Basic and JAVA were used to analyze the data from the field experiments and survey methods and to get programming. The main conclusions are as follows:1. The photosynthetic capacity of two desert plants was adaptive to the environment of sandland. The photosynthetic rate of Caragana microphylla Lam was higher than that of Caragana korshinskii Kom.2. The effects of stomatal conductance (Gs), photosynthetic activeradiation (PAR) and intercellular concentration of CO2 (Ci) of the desert plants on photosynthesis were obvious. The correlation between photosynthetic rate and environmental factors was quantified and the equations were regressed.3. The leaf temperature of the two plants was regulated in a reasonable limit through leaf transpiration when the water condition in environment was stress. The transpiration of two plants was related to Pn, PAR and Gs.4. The change of photosynthesis of two plants was related to the regulation of leaf stomata by analyzing the decline of photosynthetic rate of the two plants in the three sandland.5. When the sun light is low, the utilization of solar energy of the two plants grew with the light intensity increasing. The light intensity limited the utilization of solar energy of the two plants when the sun light is strong.6. When the CO2 concentration was low, the utilization of carbon dioxide of the two plants grew with the CO2 concentration increasing. The utilization declined with the increasing of CO2 concentration when the CO2 concentration is high.7. The result of simulation in photosynthesis of the Caragana microphylla Lam showed that the simulated values were coincident with the measured values. In this study, the measured and simulated results of photosynthesis of the two plants provided explanations for the adaptation of desert plant to the dry environment and a theoretical foundation for the growth forecast of Caragana microphylla Lam.
