Dunaliella salina is an unicellar microalgae belongs to Chlorophyta, Chlorophytaceae, Volvocales, Dunaliellaceae, Dunaliella. Its content of protein,β-carotene and glycerin is high, especially the content of 6-carotene, can reach 14% of its dry-weight. In order to study the relationship between salinity conversion and accumulation of active outcome, Dunaliella salina and f/2 culture medium were used for our test, five salinity treatments(10-100) and twenty-five salinity conversion treatments were set, and physiological response of Dunaliella salina was studied before and after the salinity changed. Some index such as the value of OD,the content of chlorophyll-a and 8-carotene,the content of dissolvable protein and carbohydrate were tested. So the results showed that: 1.Dunaliella salina was sensitive to the salinity, the value of OD, the content of chlorophyll-a and 6-carotene had obvious differences between the five salinity(10,20,30,50,100) treatments. And the salinity was higher, the growth and the pigment accumulation of Dunaliella salina were affected badly. The salinity 30 suited the growth of Dunaliella salina best. 2.Dunaliella salina had obvious response to the twenty-five salinity conversion treatments. No matter the salinity changed from low salinity to high salinity or from high salinity to low salinity, Dunaliella salina could grow in salinity 30 well, too. The growth speed of each treatment whose growth environment changed from high salinity to low salinity was maintained in high level. But when the environmental salinity changed from low salinity to high salinity, the salinity increased more, the growth of this algae was restrained harder. 3.In different salinity condition, the content of protein and carbohydrate of Dunaliella salina become higher as the salinity's increasing. The extent of salinity changed had no association with the content of protein and carbohydrate, but the high content of protein and carbohydrate had associated with the high salinity all the time.
