The vetiveria zizanioides has wide adaptability and strong resistance, which is a kind perennial of herb which grows rapidly. There are extensive use in the water and soil conservation mine rehabilitation roadway and riverbank protection. Form the response to stress and management measure, the research analyzed the response to the high temperature and drought on vetiveria zizanioides. The vetiveria zizanioides, which was transplanted in winter, responsed to the soil moisture and the effect of the manipulation techniques to the standing and establishment of vetiveria zizanioides seedlings and establishing of community in applying fertilizer, cutting, covering etc, in order to offer the theoretical bases for the extending and using vetiveria zizanioides on ecological protection and recovery. The results were as follows:1 The response of vetiveria zizanioide on high temperature low temperature, drought water-logged were different under differ assembled. (1)Under the condition sufficient of soil moisture, the high temperature contributed to the plant height of vetiveria zizanioides, but the growth of tillers and root system was suppressed. Under the drought, the tillers died one by one, the root grew slowly at the beginning, but decreased as drought increasing. (2) The reviving-jointin rate and surviving time of vetiveria zizanioides which transplanted in winter was not too depend on soil moisture. Under just 7% soil volume content can grew, but the growth status is not as good as the other high soil moisture. The photosynthesis transpiration and conductance rates strengthened with the increase of soil moisture gradually. It proved that the soil moisture influenced the growth of vetiveria zizanioides further through influencing the photosynthesis. (3)Soil moisture has great effects on growth and development of vetiveria zizanioides planted in the winter after it return in the next year. Both severe water-logged soil and severe water-stressed soil restrained growth of height, tiller and root of plant and accumulation of dry matter of plant. Meanwhile, they also significantly reduced the content of leaf chlorophyll. However, light water-logged soil or light water-stressed soil had slightly effects. Yet the paper indicated that the leaf blade water content reduces along with soil moisture decreasing, but the leaf blade water content saturation deficiency and the rate of root-stem increased with the soil moisture decreasing. The results as follows: the effect of hight temperature on vetiveria zizanioides was not too...
