Housefly (Musca domestica L.) is a kind of important insect and spreads all over the world. Maggot is the larva of housefly. Housefly has short generation and high fertility retention; in addition, the artificial rearing techniques for standardization have been mature. Many researches have focused on housefly for its characteristics. It have been indicated that maggots are rich in nutrition and many bioactive properties. Recently large numbers of studies have proved that there are many substances with antioxidant and free radicals scavenging activities in the body of maggots. However, it is considered that broad attentions focused on free radicals as a damaged factor of target moleculars has a wide spread concern. So it was conjectured that the larvae of housefly maybe had the compositions with radioprotective activity. The radioprotective effect and its' mechanism of extract from the larvae of housefly were investigated in this thesis. The research can provide a theoretical basis for the application of the larvae of housefly on anti-irradiation. The results of the research were showed as followed:1. The acute oral toxicity experiment showed that the extract was non-toxic under a dose of 10 g/kg·bw. The analysis of nutritional components showed that the extract was rich in protein and carbohydrate, the molecular weight of protein was no more than 14.4KD. Studies on chemical systems demonstrated that extract from the larvae of housefly significantly reduced the generation of ? OH and O2 .2. Treated with extract from the larvae of housefly consecutively before and immediately after irradiation by 8.5Gy 60Co γ-ray could increase 30d survival rate and the average time of 30 days, it also could protect leukocytes, erythrocytes, thrombocytes and hemoglobin when compared with the...
