Four information parameters are selected to depict the characteristic of nucleotide sequences. For DNA, intergenic and protein coding sequences of chromosomes in Caenorhabditis elegans genome, we calculate the values of the four parameters respectively in each sequence section above and analyze their distributions along the chromosomes. The results show that the sequence distribution along the chromosome exist a kind of order regularity. Each chromosome has a conservative region which is located in its middle part and active regions which are located in the two sides of it. The average values of these parameters between the two regions have distinct statistical difference based on the t test. The bias of base composition is larger and GC content is lower in conservative region than in active regions. Towards the two sides of the chromosome, the sequence evolution levels are increasing and its deviation is also increasing.
