There have some reports in and abroad about the effect of temperature on growth of Spirulina(Arthrospira). most Spirulina grow well at higher temperature(28~35℃) ,which was concluded from the S. (A.) platensis (S2) of Chad Lake in Africa and S. (A.) maxima (S3) of Soso Texcoco Lake in Mexico. The S. (A.) platensis which forms extensive water bloom were be found in the natron lakes of Ordos Plateau in sand land, it has been studied that the range of grow-temperature was 4~45℃, the most adaptive grow-temperature was 24℃,belonging to low-temperature,wide- temperature creature .The domestic S. (A.) platensis (S1) from the natron lakes of Ordos Plateau and the imported S. (A.) platensis (S2) of Chad Lake in Africa and S. (A.) maxima (S3) of Soso Texcoco Lake in Mexico were used as experimental material and stressed at different low temperatures and treated-day numbers. Folin procedure and ninhydrin method were adopted respectively to determine the contents of soluble proteins and free amino acids in the extravasation of Spirulina at low temperatures stress; Anthrone colorimetry,Folin procedure and Sulfosalicylic acid were adopted respectively to determine the contents of soluble sugar, soluble protein and free proline in the cells of Spirulina. And compared the changes of the above norm under low temperature stress after exercices of low temperature or being treated with ABA . Univariate analysis of variance and Duncan multiple comparisons were adopted to analysis the variance of the cold resistance on metabolism of Spirulina.
