Drilling stem is an important part in drilling. When it is drilling, Drill stem's service life is reduced seriously, because of the flections distortion and the wear and tear with casing-pipe wall. In order to prevent abrasion and extend the service life, people deal with all kinds of researches. Now, people use a new method of preventing drill stem abrasion —Install non-rotating protector in the part near drill stem tie-in to solve this problem effectively. But it is difficult to confirm the best position and the number of appending protector.Because of the uncertainty of contact position between drill stem and casing-pipe wall, people always estimate the number of protector and the position of appending protector though locale experience. But this way can't use protector effectively. Although many scholars put forward lots of supposition, it is difficult to find out the contact position and the contact force. In this paper, ADAMS and ANSYS software are used to build the model of drill stem and dynamically simulate the distortion of drill stem in vertical well. This method displays the whole process of the contact between drill stem and casing-pipe wall. Gradual simulation is used to dynamically simulate the best position of appending non-rotating drill stem protector. By this way, we can find out contact points and contact force, then make certain the position and number of installing protector. It provides a dependable and practical calculation way for the disposal of protector.
