In this paper, the working principal and the mechanical state of non-rotating dill pipe protector is studied. Based on the academic research, the mechanical model of protector is founded. We solve this problem using the co-simulation of ANSYS and ADAMS. This paper primly analyzed the pressure and frictional moment between drill pipe and the protector, as well as the stress of the protector. Furthermore, we put forward a lot of advice on the use of protector on the basis of academic research.Firstly, based on the application of non-rotating drill pipe casing protector in the oil wells, the analysis of the boundary condition of the protector and the co-simulation of ANSYS and ADAMS, this paper analyzed the friction among drilling pipe, non-rotating drill pipe casing protector and the wall of well bore during the drilling progress. This paper makes further analysis on the mechanical state of the protector, and the impact of abrasion. The pressure and stress are also analyzed in this paper.
