Insulin-like growth factor1(IGF-I) is multifunctional factor regulating cell proliferation differentiation. It contains three disulfide bonds that connect the peptide chain closely.IGF-I can be found in bind with almost all kinds of tissue, but the liver cycle process is its chief resource.IGFs family often join to the special protein IGFBPs.IGFBPs have the Insulin-like function on biosynthetic metabolism.First,IGFBPs can improve the ability of ingesting glucose.Second, they inhibit the disintegration of hepatic glycogen while they promote the product of hepatic glycogen and muscle glycogen.IGF-I itself is a kind of mediator of growth hormone which can facilitatethe growth. At present, the study illustrates that IGF-I has the fuctions of autocrine and paracrine. Many tissues out of the liver could excrete IGF-I.Then in the cells of the tissues themselves or consecut tissues,it improves the synthesis and expression of DNA and promotes the growth and cleavage of cells。Insulin-like growtn factor(IGF-I) may be useful as a treatment of many diseases. Such as diabetes, the failure of growth hormone receptor, renal failure, cardiac disease, peripheral neuropathy, osteoporosis and so on.It is the third step of clinical observation at abroad when using IGF-I treats muscular dystrophy of lateral sclerosis. As IGF-I's concentration is very low in the blood,it is impossible to...
