Osteopontin (OPN) is an acidic single chain phosphorylated glycoprotein, which contains an Arg-Gly-Asp (RGD) sequence, and it is classified a component of the extracellular matrix (ECM). The original observation shows that OPN is expressed by bone tissue, and the subsequent research found that OPN is expressed in uterine endomembrane of secretion phase, the trophoblastic cell of invading, the glandular epithelium of decidua and placenta.Pregnancy is a complicated process, it contains the early implantation of blastocyst and the embryonic development.
