Visualization Technology is the way we can observe and get to know things by means of graphics and images. It's the most direct way we learn about things. With the development of computer hardware and the decline of it's cost, Visualization has got it's application in more and more field, including computer graphics, CAD and human-computer interaction etc..After researching into the way we define Visualization and how we class the Visualization. Then I've compared the difference of voxel data visualization between traditional computer graphics. After that, the contents, and principle of Visualization will be discussed. Two methods of voxel data visualization—first one through the way of wire-frame, the second through means of direct voxel data visualization will be compared, their theory will be discussed too.I've focus on the application of Visualization technology in the reservoir interpretation. Basing on the OpenGL and 3DSurfer, I'll develop a software on Reservoir interpretation which can be use to observe the inner structure of reservoir in a easy, direct, multi-perspective and multi-form way so that the evaluating person can get to know the characters of the reservoir more quickly and accurately.Finally the I've successed in visualized the data of top terrain of reservoir based on OpenGL. Then the I'll realized the 3D-Visulization of 3D-seismic data, which can be rotate, cut so that the inner structure of reservoir can be display in a direct way.I've reached the goal of task and developed a software to interpret reservoir based on the 3D-seimic data.
